A Residual Pulse, 2026
The SubstationA Residual Pulse transforms The Substation into an immersive environment shaped by its hidden architectures and atmospheric systems. Drawing on the building’s history as a power conversion site, the exhibition traces The Substation's historical airflow pathways, structural geometries, and material imprints through light, flicker, and suspended form. Lines of illumination trace, extend and connect across multiple galleries. Suspended sculptures mimic the architectural frames and subtle air currents circulating through the building’s ventilation systems. A cluster of suspended neon forms echo absent hinges and machinery, hovering like fragments of an industrial afterimage.

Together, the works engage the building as a living structure - as though it were breathing air and pulsing with energy, accenting the memory of its past use. A Residual Pulse activates the physical fabric of The Substation to draw attention to the building’s history. It invites audiences into a world which explores the quiet convergence between past, present and future - as a site of ongoing transformation.

Sky whispers, 2023, transforms a section of The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia into an immersive installation made from light tape. The lines and shapes reference the light phenomena glimpsed in the fractal geometry of the building’s facade. Sky whispers simultaneously sympathises with the building’s architecture though line and shape, and responds to the various ways light enters into and is refracted across the gallery spaces and voids. Streader offers a way to experience this architecture that is momentary, emotional and affective.

The Marker, West Melbourne
Sky Shimmers is a multi-site light installation located at the Stanley St stairwell entrance and outdoor corridor of The Marker, in West Melbourne.&#38;nbsp;Sky Shimmers draws its inspiration
from the interaction of light on the water at the nearby docklands, where the shimmering effects of reflection create a mesmerizing dance of light and refraction. As the sun sets over
the horizon the sky transforms through a spectrum of vibrant colours – from the burning reds and oranges to soft pinks and yellows. This daily spectacle of shifting tones is reflected in the design of Sky Shimmers,
with each installation capturing the fluidity and changing nature of light and colour.</description>

Street and Marvel Stadium through creative and innovative responses to site.

Foundation (monument) is an architecturally and spatially informed sculpture which considers the
contrast between light and shadow, old and new. Constructed from three large panels, skewed and slanted to create an asymmetrical ‘totemic’ sculpture, its design incorporates layered lines of textured clear acrylic which mimic traditional leadlight decorative textured glass, encased in a bold dark framework.This work is a response to the male dominated history of Light and Space movement, specifically reflecting on Dan Flavin’s
monument for V. Tatlin fluorescent series. Now reincarnated,&#38;nbsp;Foundation (monument) exists as a sculpture which harnesses the powers of light and texture to alter states of perception, conjure memory and immerse viewers in a moment in time.

Shipping container, electroluminescent wire. 

Response VII (Partition III) responds to the geometry of a shipping container, tracing its structure in light and dividing the space into skewed segments. The work presents a contrast between the established construction of the container by redefining the steel tunnel into a seemingly stretched and continuous linear corridor for viewers to investigate.

Pink, a colour synonymous with warmth and tenderness, transforms this illuminated chair into a beacon of solace and intimacy. Pink is immediate and inviting. It is the hue of vulnerability, where hearts and souls connect. This light-infused prototype invites you to reflect on how to sit, to rest, and to connect with the moment.


A very small and impractical neon chair concept embodies the essence of closeness and connection through its colour and luminous presence. It represents a place of repose, where conversations flow and connections deepen around a soft, warm glow. The intertwining panels of pink light create a vibrant yet gentle aura, enveloping the sitter (in concept) in a cocoon of radiance.


This illuminated chair asks us to value the moments of quiet and the spaces that allow us to recharge. It reminds us that there is immense power in the simple act of sitting, resting, and being immersed in the warm glow of light. It calls us to appreciate the beauty in stillness and the significance of creating environments that foster closeness and connection.
