‘Broken Hills’ was a light work installed at the Junction Mine in Broken Hill. This work referenced the opening up of the earth where the mines sit scattered around the region. An illuminated representation of two jagged hills was visible while looking out across the horizon. The suspended gradient panel contrasted and blended with the colours of the sky during sunset. Reflection and the notion of an endless landscape were referenced by the linear mirroring of the hill motif.
