Meagan Streader

In absence of shadows

A new body of architecturally and spatially informed artworks, refining investigations into the shifting and unstable nature of perception. These works consolidate the various branches within Streader’s practice and translate her large-scale light installations and spatial interventions into intimate sculptural and wall-based pieces.

Through layered lines of frosted light, soft pinks, blues and earthy hues, and bold black acrylic borders – these new works use colour to elicit feelings of tenderness, sensitivity, and warmth. Angles, lines, curves and squiggles are blended to create illusions of the infinite and perceptual trickery. The repetition and layering of these design elements create sensations of movement and visual vibrations - drawing on the majestic and sublime qualities of light.
