Response IV (Partition) reimagines QUT Art Museum as an artificial space, describing the geometry of the gallery by tracing the partition walls and floors with light. The work presents a contrast between the established construction of the gallery and its architectural alterations by redefining the partition wall as a hallway, or portal, for viewers to walk through and experience from the inside and outside of the structure. Response IV (Partition) aims to destabilise and challenge visual perspectives through an immersive experience within the reconstructed light corridor. Preconceived ideas of the physical gallery must be discarded in order to imagine new pathways and examine one’s physical presence within the space.
